It
is possible
to feel better after a trauma. Getting
help doesn't mean that you're weak or crazy... It's normal
to feel fear, anger or depression after an emotionally or
physically painful event. It's normal to have nightmares
and unwanted thoughts, as well.
Sometimes these symptoms go away, but for many people, they
do not. In fact, the symptoms can become more severe, causing
a person to lose a job, lose relationships, and become a
victim to her own mind.
Victim Services Center was established to help victims
recover from the effects of trauma. It is possible to feel
better. It is possible to get rid of symptoms so that they
don't return.
Victims and Witnesses of crime from the ages of three and
older qualify for our services either through a grant and/or
through Victim Compensation. For those who suffer from traumatic
events other than a current or past crime, we accept some
insurance and offer a very reasonable sliding scale.
We utilize very effective approaches that have proven to
help people through their traumas in a relatively short
amount of time.
Our services include:
|
- One-on-one
trauma resolution
|
- Educational
groups for domestic violence victims
|
|
|
- Bereavement
After Violent Death support group

But
I'm afraid to look at what happened to me...
This, too, is a normal reaction. Unfortunately
it is a reaction that traps people into long-term pain and
discomfort. What may surprise you is how quickly you can
feel better.
