(Evolving Website)

What a concept!

But it is possible. As the agency that specializes in relieving stress, Victim Services Center would like to pass on one of our best tools and in so doing, provide a means for us to engage in some unique and very needed community building.

So far, over 500 employees of local agencies have participated in our free stress reduction classes, delivered by the Art of Living Foundation. That program continues, but since VSC now employs someone who is a Certified Art of Living Teacher, we are able to offer their research-backed course (please see the video below for a great description of the research that has been done) for a very special rate for our very stressed community partners. Besides learning a daily breath meditation, the 20-hour course offers a powerful rhythmic breath routine that is available once the course is done. Consider this idea: that as a community, employers let staff off early every other Friday so that we can all get together at 4 PM in a central location, breath out the stress of the week, interact with one another in a de-stressed state, and go home, at peace, ready for our weekend. Can you imagine meeting with other community members and the topic isn’t about another problem?

The next course starts on December 5 - 10. VSC paid half of the registration fee for employees and all staff has completed the course.  For agencies that have a training budget, there is no better investment than a course that will teach employees methods to:

•     Increase focus
•     Relax
•     Improve the immune system
•     Control the pain associated with chronic diseases
•     Reduce or eliminate depression and anxiety
•     Change how the brain reacts to stress*
